East of Scotland Tennis is delighted to announce Supersets Tennis Athlete Performance as its official Strength & Conditioning (S&C) supplier, strengthening the region’s commitment to developing the next generation of tennis players through high-quality, tennis-specific development for both juniors and adults.

The partnership will promote Supersets skills to players across the region offering them specialist strength and conditioning support designed specifically for the demands of tennis, helping them improve their physical performance, resilience, movement skills and long-term athletic development.

CEO of Supersets Tennis Athlete Performance is Darren Linton, Performance Pathway Strength & Conditioning Coach at Supersets Tennis Athlete Performance and lead Strength & Conditioning trainer for East of Scotland Tennis. Darren brings extensive experience working with junior tennis players across performance pathways, helping athletes develop the physical foundations required to compete and progress through the sport.

With a strong understanding of the unique demands tennis places on young athletes, Darren has built a reputation for delivering age-appropriate, evidence-based training programmes that enhance performance while supporting healthy development and reducing injury risk.

Viki Mendelssohn, Chair of East of Scotland Tennis, said:

“This is a great match-up for East of Scotland Tennis and our players. We are passionate about encouraging more juniors to engage in strength and conditioning as part of their overall development, not only to improve performance on court but also to help them build the physical skills and resilience needed for long-term success in the sport.

“It was important for us to work with an experienced company that truly understands the requirements of a tennis player from a young age. Supersets Tennis Athlete Performance and Darren’s experience working with our County squads make them an ideal partner as we continue to strengthen our player development pathway.”

Darren Linton, Performance Pathway Strength & Conditioning Coach at Supersets Tennis Athlete Performance, added:

“We’re excited to work with East of Scotland Tennis and support its commitment to developing well-rounded athletes. Tennis is becoming increasingly physical, and introducing structured, age-appropriate strength and conditioning at the right stage can have a significant impact on performance, confidence and long-term development. We look forward to working with players, coaches and parents across the region.

We would also love to work with clubs and adults who play regularly to help them get fitter and make them more aware of injury prevention and how to stay fitter and get faster and stronger to improve their overall game.”

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to providing players with access to best-practice athlete development and creating an environment where tennis players can thrive both on and off the court.

Uma Iyer, parent of Aadya and Arav who are both in the U18 County Squad said:

“We have been extremely grateful for Darren’s dedication and commitment to player development. What sets Darren apart is the personal attention he gives to every aspect of a player’s progress. He closely monitors their technique and form, reviews match and training videos, and provides detailed feedback that helps them continually improve.

“Darren’s involvement extends far beyond scheduled coaching sessions. He regularly attends tournaments on his own initiative, stays in touch with players and parents, and takes a genuine interest in how the children are feeling both on and off the court. He understands that performance is not just physical but also mental and emotional. Importantly, he has played a significant role in improving their movement, coordination, agility, and overall athleticism.

“Darren recognises the potential in each player and consistently challenges, encourages, and supports them to achieve it. His combination of technical expertise, empathy, and genuine commitment to every child’s development makes him an exceptional coach, mentor, and role model.”
