East of Scotland run three distinct weekly coaching programmes:

East Wee Aces

This programme is for our youngest players. There are currently 40 players attending squads in the East Wee Aces 10U Programme.

  • 7 x red ball players age 7U
  • 9 x orange ball players age 8U
  • 20 x orange – green players age 9U
  • 11 x green – yellow players age 10U

In the current Wee Aces weekly programme, we are running:

  • 1 x red ball weekly squad
  • 3 x orange ball weekly squad
  • 3 x green ball weekly squad
  • 1 x yellow ball transition with county programme

Our coaches working in the East Wee Aces programme are;

  • Level 4: Callum Lloyd (Lead Coach) and Karen Lamb
  • Level 3: Jack Hardie
  • Coaching Assistants: Shannon-Anne O’Brien and Heather Croll

Highlights from 2023:

  • Both boys and girls 10U winning their county cup group
  • Both boys and girls 9U winning their county cup group and travelling down south to compete in the north Region National finals with the boys finishing 3rd and girls 2nd.
  • Seven of our 10U players selected as part of the national pathway player programme and invited to monthly RPDC sessions in Stirling.

EOS County Programme

There are currently 28 players attending squads in the EOS County Programme.

  • 12 x players aged 12U
  • 16 x players ages 13+

In the current weekly EOS County Programme, we are running:

  • 2 x mixed 12U weekly squad
  • 1 x mixed 13+ weekly squad
  • 1 x Boys County squad
  • 1 x Girls County squad

We are delighted to have four players aged 11+ who have been selected as part of the Regional Player Development Centre (RPDC) awho attend weekly sessions in Stirling.

Highlights from 2023:

  • 11U boys winning their County Cup group and qualifying for the National finals in Sheffield
  • 12U girls finishing 2nd in their County Cup group.

We have also delivered successful Easter and Summer camps.

Progression Programme

The Progression Programme links the clubs to the county programme by identifying club players who would benefit from increased frequency of training and playing alongside other players at the same standard from around the East of Scotland.

There are currently four weekly classes and we hope to continue to grow the programme by connecting to coaches in clubs and ensuring there is appropriate provision to support players and coaches to progress to the next level. Classes currently take place on:

  • Mondays at Merchiston Castle School
  • Wednesdays 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Craiglockhart
  • Thursdays 7:30pm – 9:00pm at Merchiston Castle School
  • Fridays at Merchiston Castle School
