Smashing news – 300+ players enter the LMP Group East of Scotland Tennis Open

Over 300 players from across the UK have registered entries for the LMP Group East Open taking place this month.

318 players in total have entered across the different categories, which include adult men’s and women’s singles and doubles in both open and age grade events, junior singles and doubles U8-18, a padel tournament and a wheelchair event.

The Grade 3 event kicks off today with matches being held at Craiglockhart Tennis Centre, George Watson’s College and Game4Padel at Edinburgh Park.

Speaking after entries closed, Chair of East of Scotland Tennis Viki Mendelssohn commented:

“We’re delighted that so many players have chosen to enter this year’s tournament.

“The LMP Group East Open is our flagship tournament and showcases the highest standard tennis you are likely to see in this region of the country.

“Best of luck to all of those who have entered, and thank you to our sponsors and partners – we look forward to some high class Tennis over the coming two weeks.”

For the first time ever the semi finals and finals in the men’s and women’s draws will be broadcast live on East of Scotland’s YouTube channel after they agreed a partnership with Play Vision sports broadcasting.

It will mean that those who aren’t able to make it down in person to watch for free at Craiglockhart opn finals day 25 May will be able to follow all of the action online.
