We are delighted to open applications for the role of U11 Player Development Lead for East of Scotland LTA, this post has been funded by LTA via Tennis Scotland. This is an exciting time for East of Scotland tennis and we are growing our core team to continue our path of excellence in delivering participation and performance tennis to the highest standards. Job Title: U11 Player Development Lead
Scope of work:
- County link to Tennis Scotland(TS) 11u Manager
- Management of the County players as part of the Player Development Management System, inputting data/production reports as requested for reporting purposes to EOS & TS
- Liaise with County players individual coaches to ensure players have balanced weekly programmes
- Organisation and delivery of County matchplays and or equivalent competitive activity to complement TS competition framework to include 9u/10u/11u and 8u mini red/ sponge ball events
- Link with clubs and club coaches to identify players for County training
- Monthly reporting meeting with designated Manager within East of Scotland LTA
- Organisation and delivery of quality weekly 11u County training during school term Sept – June, Sept- Dec, Jan – March ideally indoors April – June outdoors if appropriate.
- Support TS Matchplay events and other TS activity as agreed between all parties
- Selection of County Teams in age groups 11u
- Attendance at County events/competitions (to be agreed in advance)
- Attend CPD training and promote local CPD opportunities for coaches in the district
- Attend County programme planning meetings
- To assist the Lead Coach with the organisation, planning and selection of ESLTA U11 Teams
- To be available to Captain U11 Teams at home and away competitions
- Assist ESLTA with social media content creation (a set number of posts per week)
- Be available to assist at the East Open (over 2 weekends 15-18 & 22-25 May) and East Lothian Open (21-27 July)
- Run 5 x red ball events throughout the year
Essential skills
- Level 3 Coaching or above and LTA Accredited
- Experience in a similar role at U11
- Excellent administration and effective and adaptable communication skills which has been demonstrated in current role
- An appetite to grow the role and personally develop skills (this will be supported through various upskilling/coaching opportunities)
- Excellent time management and have the ability to work to a regular schedule and report regularly to Manager
- Confident of working independently, leading and assisting as part of a team
- Must have all safeguarding and first aid certification
- Own vehicle will be required
Start Date – May 2025
Salary – £8,500 + agreed expenses. ESLTA will also pay a % for agreed professional development courses
Contract type – Self-Employed contract for services
